Although today I don't have class, I went to school in order to attend the general assembly. So why did I attend? Because food is provided. Instead of staying home with no food on the ref and let my stomach grumble, I went to school. Hehe. That's all.

I miss Aiko already! Come home na!

I better update my blog.

We have discovered a cheaper way to communicate with my family and relatives in Canada. We don't have to make screwy international calls nor have to worry about our damn telephone bill when calling them to Canada. 2 weeks ago, Shirley arrived from Canada and had something for us from my brother. It's a DVG 1120 Broadband voice gateway. The only problem was....How the hell could we get it working!!!

(My sister and I) We looked for an AVR to plug in the 110v voice gateway or VoIP, set aside the necessary cables then we followed the instruction manual. But nothing happened from following the instruction manual. So, we tried other possible connections to make the status light, from blinking red, to steady green. But nothing, we couldn't just get it working. Frustrated, we didn't bother to make it work anymore and left it to dust.

2 weeks later, my brother called us from Canada and told us we better make it work coz he has been paying for the subscription fee already. He gave us a site and found out, there was an additional instructions to follow! hmp. (That's why we can't make it work coz we have to make some configurations.)

Finally, the status light turned green. Yippee! Only one problem left. The phone and the phone line. Where will we dial the phone number if the line is connected from the wall jack to the VoIP??? The three of us were arguing and shouting like crazy and we kept on repeating what my sis and I have said earlier because my bro didn't understood our situation. He just wasn't listening. If there's someone watching us, he/she'll definitely think we were angry or maybe, crazy, but actually, we're not. Finally, after fiery arguments and deafening shoutings with my lil bro, we finally got it!!! Yun pala, we need another cable to connect the phone to the VoIP. Sheesh! Hindi man lang sinabi. We weren't told about needing a new cable for that. But anyway, the fruit of our labor is sweet...heehee. We can talk to them as long as we want to without worrying expensive international phone calls. Because using this VoIP is like we are living in Canada. So it's Canada to Canada. Local Canadian rates apply.

school days are over. Must find something productive to do this summer.
~
I was planning to study Japanese language this summer but my dad did not allow me. Well, I think he's right. I should finish what I've started before jumping to another thing. I've taken french lessons last year and spanish during my college days in cksc but I've only reached level 2. I guess I have to review my French before enrolling this coming May.
(coz I've completely forgotten them ^_^;;;;;)

Eating galore this afternoon! heehee. After eating ice monster, we looked for another food stall, and another, and another. We had tuna wrap (the taste isn't so special), thumbs up ice cream (taste ordinary too...magnolia lang yun e.), and Bizu (sarap ng chocolates nila!! kyaaa!!!) Sarap kumain!!! Mas lalo na pag libre!!!

I'm still figuring out how to use autocad. ;_; Submission for the final plate will be march 29 and I'm still in exploring stage. ;_;. sniff.
~
Too many things to do by next week. I have to finish FREEDRAW, BASICAD, INTERDES, FOTOGRA within 2 weeks! ack!! Cram cram cram!!!

Last saturday, I had such a great time. We're supposed to attend a friend's bday party but since they started late, aiks and I decided to greet him happy birthday, leave the gift and left.

Feeling hungry, we ate first before we went home. First stop was Bizu. They had such tasty desserts that I've never eaten something like it. It was heavenly, but very expensive. :( If only they weren't that expensive, I could have ordered another piece. Not having enough, we entered another restaurant Banana leaf Curry. The food was good but it doesn't taste anything special plus expensive too.
~
Grabe. Even there were only 2 of us, we're so noisy. We were laughing most of the time. She has been out of the country for 10 days and now she's back loaded with lots of stories and bloopers straight from Japan. I just can't stop laughing at that time. She also brough me home some chocolates too. How I love those chocolates...yummy!
~
This one's the funniest! Teehee. An excerpt from "Mga Kwento Ni Aiko sa Japan."

An american missionary called the Japanese missionary couple in their house.

American Missionary: Hello, Mrs. ____ may I speak to your husband?
Japanese wife: Just a moment, I change my husband.

The wife didn't know what it meant until that day. She always say "I change my husband" for quite some time already, instead of saying "I'll call my husband."

lookie lookie dyeanne's work ------>
http://www.deviantart.com/view/5614017/ not just that link but look at all of her artworks!! It's worth your time (and your internet card). It just inspires me to practice and improve on my art skill so that I could reach that level. ü
Yay! Aiko's back. hehe üüü. At least my depression has subsided a little. Sad for the grades I've received this term. So low =(. I hope I can catch up in the finals and become a deans lister. Must work harder.

I just hate the COMORAL subject. It's an english speech subject and I am VERY VERY bad at it. I feel so nervous everytime I stand in front of people. If only they credited my speech subject in Chiang Kai, I don't have to feel this way again. I feel so stupid everytime I stand in front of many people, and give a stupid smile with matching stuttering speech. Argh!! I hate the thought of it.

But I guess, in a way, it may be good for me. It may help me improve myself, add confidence and who knows one day this girl would be the greatest speaker in the world...bwahahaha.
~
I'm feeling weird these past few weeks. I hate it. I can't think clearly.

Goodness, I have to go back to Quaipo for the 3rd time. So bothersome.

kyaaa.............The weather's getting hotter :(
~
Seems like my metabolism is getting faster. I easily get hungry nowadays. Must be the aloe vera product that i've been drinking.
~
Aiks still in Japan. Sigh.
~
That Pamela song is running through my head. So annoying yet I can't get the tune out of my mind.
~
Election's drawing closer and closer. I haven't registered yet. I'm still a minor (would you believe that :p) just kidding of course. But if given a chance to vote, I would vote for Lacson. An iron-fist ruler is what this country need. This country needs someone who can dicipline its citizens.

Today's News: Mwahahaha! Those swindlers deserve it! May you all rot in jail.
~
Just last year, those credit card swindlers visited our shop. They bought 30 bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue (market value = P 4500.00 per bottle) and dive computers that costs about 10,000-30,000 pesos using fraudulent credit cards. They also visited other dive shops around Makati and bought the same thing. I wasn't there to see how those f*cking bastards look like. My sister was there. There was something suspicious about them. We didn't have enough stock available in the store. We asked for their address so we could deliver it, but they refused. They prefer to pick it up in the store. My sister was already suspicious about them. They came back the next day to pick up the goods. Armed with digi cam, she took their pictures and their car's plate number. Unfortunately, she missed the face^_^;;; After a week, the bank called and informed us about the fraud.
~
Recently, they swindled P 80,000 worth of groceries in Rustan's. There they met their fate. mwahahahaha. I don't care whether they were or weren't the one who went to our store. We were victimized by these organized crimes and as victims, we are happy that justice is served.
~
In their many years in business, my parents have seen lots of different fraud techniques. Some will ask you to deliver the goods to one corner and collect the money in another corner. After leaving them to collect the money, they will run away with the goods. Some will confuse you with change. Some will pay in cheque that would later bounce.
There are really lots of technique. That's why my parents are very cautious when it comes to goods and money matters. If somebody near us was swindled, they would lecture and remind us right away about their experiences and recent swindling techniques. That's why, we are not easily fooled by anybody.

a chat between my achi (older sister) and my shoti (younger brother) about the fruit juicer. Shoti is in Canada for about a year already. This isn't the actual chat between them but it's more of my summary of their chat.

achi: bumili na ba kayo ng fruit juicer?
shoti: yup
achi: paano mo nilagay yung carrot sa juicer?
shoti: you top it, tail it, wash it, slice it, and then juice away!
~
whoa! my shoti is speaking to us in english. I know there's nothing wrong in speaking the language. It's just it's my shoti. We usually speak in tagalog and we're used to that. From that convesation alone, he is beginning to sound like a coñoboy. Hehe.

Yawn...sleepy
~
Wall climbing is tiring. I feel I lose my sense of touch. I can't hold my things properly, as if my hands are numb. But it's fun though. Not fun when you're on your way to the top, but when you're back on the ground, you'll think it's fun...hehehe.
~
Sleepy....my mind is not working anymore. Need to sleep. Gusto ko pa magsulat pro antok na ako.

I felt guilty waking my dad up so early at 2am because of the *bwisit* stomach pain. It's not the usual pain of wanting to defecate nor and ulcer pain, coz it involves all parts of my stomach. The pain was something like there are knots in your intestines. I waited for some time for it to subside because I don't want to disturb my parents from their sleep. It didn't subside but it went worse. So, I woke my dad up because I can't take the pain anymore. When we arrived at the hospital, the pain subsided. $heeSH. Anyway, nevermind that. My dad didn't feel well too. For that whole day, he didn't felt well and he tolerated it, not wanting to visit the doctor. Maybe my stomachache was a good thing. I was thinking, maybe God, through my stomach pain, was telling my dad to see the doctor. ehehe...God communicates with us in a very unusual way.... The doctor checked his blood pressure and it was very high. It must be the stress and the lack of sleep (plus his bad eating habits, of course....argh....his unstoppable appetite!) that made him feel dizzy. I think that's the sign of a near heart attack.

Me and my dad have so much in common. the walk, the face, the attitude, and including sickness :( (except for the heart disease...buti nalng)

My parents aren't getting any younger. And I, so young and full of energy, am being unproductive:( At this time, we should be the one managing our business already and my parents having the time of their lives, relaxing and enjoying life. It's time for them to rest after working so hard for many years already. I'll remind myself that constantly. Be productive!

~

This guy is pretty interesting. I haven't met someone like him. He is a good conversationalist. He can make the speaker feel comfortable with him. Looking forward to those little chat again ^_^. Hope we can become good friends.

~

Filipino guys vs. Chinese guys in general
Filipino guys are much friendlier than Chinese. Chinese guys are snob. They will not talk to you unless they're interested in you or they need something from you. If you tried to communicate with them, the'll just answer in one sentence or a word. Chinese guys are cold. hehe. (like me)

side note: i'm not complaining. just an observation.

feeling sick. ugh. first it was cough. now it's my ankle....arhg! this is killing me. After coughing hard for 3 weeks, my left ankle is swelling. My dad has this kind of symptoms too. Redness, pain, heat and swelling, usually in toe or ankle. He said it is gout, some kind of athritis(sp?). It is common to people who have high uric acid. Purine rich foods can increase your uric acid. But I don't remember eating purine rich foods anyway (which includes beans, tofu, nuts, etc.) I went to intercon lab. to take a blood test. The results were normal. My uric acid level is normal. Cholesterol level is normal. But after taking my results to my doctor, she said I should have taken urinalysis too, which I thought would be useless....hay....because sometimes blood test isn't enough to see if my uric acid is high or not.

This wasn't the first time it happened to me. The last time was....I think last 2 years. I didn't took it seriously....but this time...I will.

Hirap magkasakit. From now on, I will try to have a healthy diet....*sniff* which means, no more soya milk(nooooooo.......my favorite), no more crabs, shrimps, and other seafoods (except fish of course....thank goodness), peanuts, etc.

5 days to go, it will be new year already. time flies fast.
~
Christmas is finally over. No more midnight work. Finally, I was able to sleep early yesterday and woke up early this morning...hehe.
~
Last Monday, my friends and I went to Chocolate Bar. Each of us ordered a dessert, different from one another, so that we can try them all at once...hehe. The yummiest was mud max and what Grace ordered...i forgot the name. Mine was not...*sniff*
~
I visited my dentist last week but she's not in. She'll be back on January. Because my teeth needed attention right away, I went to the 'other' dentist. She did fixed it but it was sooooo slow...I almost slept. I was also planning to let her remove my wisdom tooth but I changed my mind. Sigh, I need to remove my wisdom tooth asap!!! I don't want to let the 'other' dentist do it because she'll charge me double the price at P 5,000, heck, no way! I rather wait till January.

I'm glad they liked my artwork, although I didn't like it that much.
~
Matrabaho 'tong Multimedia course. I've spent most of my time doing projects, plates, etc. I feel I didn't help much in my family. Sigh.

Monday, November 24, 2003

a bad day. sigh. first, I wasn't allowed to go to the field trip kasi may overnight. Kasi naman e, bakit kc overnight yung outing ;_; . bad trip talaga. tapos wrong timing pa ako nag paalam kay Di. This is a very busy season for us. kasi Christmas. Hindi talaga ako papansinin. Laging sasabihin "busy ako, wag mo akong guluhin" o sasabihin agad, "wag na." tanong ko naman kung bakit "wag na"? sagot nya: "kasi overnight". tapos ang usapan.Sigh. Why do I want to go? Kasi may plus grade. 200 points.

Tapos binigyan pa nya ako ng chocolate, pasalubong from japan...wheee ^_____^ .
So far, It was fun. Both of us are trying to crack a joke, but ended up having bloopers. Here's one of her bloopers: While she was buying the japanese cheesecake. She surrendered the receipt to the saleslady. the sales lady asked: "ano po pangalan nyo?" Okia answered: " Cheese"
haha. The saleslady joted it down. Cheese was supposed to be the flavor, not her name...haha! The other customers also laughed.
~
What if you daughter's name is Cheese? hehehe. Just a random thought.

1 thing I hate about this guy is his arrogance. Sheesh, I'm so unfortunate to have known this guy. He feels like he's very smart and others are not. Likes to make fun of me. Arg!!!@$$#ol* Next time you'll do that, tatarayan na kita. and get far away from you as much as possible. Mahawa pa ako sa kayabangan mo. I hope he'll never be my classmate again!

or am i being overly sensitve here? Argh!!!Nevermind.

Problems. Life wouldn't be the same without it. Without it, life will be a bore, no challenge at all. Would you still have life when you don't face any problems. Look at the dead, they have no problems. Problems are there to help us grow. They make us think of solutions. They help us to be creative. In business, problems are important. If the CEO doesn't have any problems in his company, would there be business? Will the company earn? No, because there's no business in the first place. No resposiblity at all. The CEO did nothing to make his company grow.
Problems can make or break you. If you don't want to find ways to solve it, or you think there's no solution for it, then sorry, you really won't be able to solve it. It's because you already gave up from the very start. A person cannot be labeled as strong if they're not encountered many problems. If a house did not encountered any strong winds, typhoons, or any calamities, would it be labeled as strong? How will you know how strong it is if it is not tested? Read the biographies of influential people, their life did not always sailed smoothly. Everyone started from hardship. People who are afraid to face problems are weak. They will never grow up.
Be challenged and face your problems.
~
I remembered a beautiful line from Memoirs of Geisha. Not the exact wordings but it goes like this:

There was a general who never lost in a game. He was reputed to be the man who never lost. When asked what is his secret, he replied: "I never defeated the man, but I defeated his confidence."

That is something.
~
I watched "A Beautiful Mind" yesterday. It is a great story. A really really smart but schizophrenic(sp?) guy who contributed a lot to our society. I was teary-eyed at the end of the movie. Just imagine the harships he has gone through. The society condemned him. The students mocked him. He only had his wife with him all the time. But at the end, he is respected, honored and recognized by the people for his work.
